The Louisiana Center for the Book in the State Library of Louisiana is proud to present the 13th edition of this free, world-class literary celebration. Come join the fun from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. downtown at the State Library of Louisiana, the State Capitol, the Capitol Park Museum and nearby locations.
Whether you're young or old, just can't get enough of poetry or love to cook up some great Louisiana dishes, our national award winning event has something for every book lover. The Louisiana Book Festival is your chance to meet exceptional writers while enjoying book-related activities and presentations.
Celebrating readers, writers, and books, the annual Book Festival will take place at the State Capitol, State Library, and Capitol Park Museum and surrounding grounds. Featuring not only Louisiana writers but also authors from across the Southern region and national bestsellers, with book talks, panel discussions, a Children's Pavilion with storytellers, crafts, costumed book characters, and entertainers, literary-related film screenings, live music, food vendors, festival 'book club' discussions exhibitors, and book sales and author signings. On the Friday before the festival, WordShops for writers are held throughout the day, and an Authors Party fundraiser for Louisiana Library Foundation provides an opportunity for attendees to chat with festival participants.
